Franken, Klobuchar Statements on Nomination of Minnesotan for National Infrastructure Advisory Council
WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Senators Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar issued the following statements today on the nomination of Benjamin Fowke, the Chairman, President, and CEO of Minnesota-based Xcel Energy, to be a member of the Department of Homeland Security’s National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC). The NIAC provides the President, through the Secretary of Homeland Security, with advice on the security of critical infrastructures, both physical and cyber.
“Ben’s experience with Xcel Energy gives him a unique perspective on infrastructure security issues and he would add an important voice to the National Infrastructure Advisory Council,” said Klobuchar. “I look forward to working with Ben on strengthening our country’s critical infrastructure systems.”
“Keeping our infrastructure systems secure is vital to our country’s success and well-being,” said Franken. “Ben’s work at Xcel Energy puts him in a great position to help the National Infrastructure Advisory Council promote solutions to protect both physical and cyber infrastructure in Minnesota and across the country, and I’m pleased that he was nominated.”
Ben Fowke is Chairman, President, and CEO of Minnesota-based Xcel Energy.
