Klobuchar, Franken, Peterson Announce Over $110,000 to Improve Infrastructure at Thief River Falls Airport

WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 7, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken, along with Representative Collin Peterson, today announced that the Department of Transportation has awarded the Thief River Falls Regional Airport $110,250 for infrastructure improvements.

“The funds from this grant will help the Thief River Falls Airport make critical investments in its infrastructure,” Klobuchar said. “Infrastructure improvement projects like this one will boost airport performance and enhance safety.”

“Making investments in our transportation and infrastructure systems is key to strengthening Minnesota’s economy,” Franken said. “These resources will allow Thief River Falls Airport to best serve the region as it grows and will go a long way towards updating Minnesota’s overall transportation infrastructure.”

“A strong local airport can greatly benefit the local economy,” Peterson said. “This grant will allow the Thief River Falls airport to improve its current infrastructure to better meet the region’s transportation needs.”

The grant will allow the airport to conduct an environmental study.
