Dingell Statement on Cancellation of Taylor Housing Commission Voucher Application Event

-

Taylor, MI – January 15, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI12) released the statement below following the cancellation of last weekend’s Housing Choice Voucher Application event in Taylor due to a larger-than-expected crowd.

“My office has reached out to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to help facilitate any discussions between the agency and the Taylor Housing Commission to best streamline this process and prevent any future disruptions. It’s imperative that those in charge of this event, and all events like it, figure out what happened and why in order to make sure disruptions like this do not further hinder the public’s access to help. I have urged the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to meet with the Taylor Housing Commission and figure out the safest, most effective ways to provide access to future events like this for those who need it the most. I assure you that I will do all I can in the coming days and weeks to help resolve this issue, and my office will continue to do absolutely everything necessary to ensure that families, veterans, and all throughout our district who are eligible, receive the housing assistance they need.”
